TRAIN FOR
LONGEVITY IN DANCE

Injury prevention isn’t about avoiding movement. It’s about preparing your body to handle it.

While we can’t 100% prevent injury, there is a lot we can do to reduce the risk and keep you dancing longer, stronger, and more confidently.

At Performance Pilates & Rehab, our approach to dance injury prevention combines strength training and movement education to help dancers understand how to move well, not just for a season, but for a lifetime. Whether you are currently training, preparing for performance, or navigating recurring discomfort, we focus on building a body that can support the demands of dance.

Every session is one-on-one and tailored to your unique needs, so you feel supported, educated, and confident in how you move.

YOUR FIRST SESSION

We start by understanding how your body moves and where it may be at risk. Your first appointment will include:

  • A discussion of your dance schedule, goals, and training demands

  • A thorough movement assessment

  • Strength and stability testing

  • Mobility and flexibility screening

  • Dance-specific movement analysis

  • Review of any current or past injuries

HOW WE HELP

Our goal is to address the root causes of overuse and help your body better handle repetitive demands.

We provide:

  • Individualized strength training to support your technique and training load

  • Education on healthy movement patterns specific to dance

  • Progressive loading to build resilience in muscles, tendons, ligaments, and bones

  • Strategies to reduce overuse and repetitive stress

  • Ongoing support based on your training and performance schedule

WHY IT MATTERS

Research shows that 95% of dance injuries come from overuse and repetitive stress, not single events. That means the way you train, recover, and move every day matters.

Injury prevention helps:

  • Reduce the risk of overuse injuries

  • Support longevity in dance

  • Increase confidence in your body’s ability to perform
