HOW CAN WE HELP YOU GET BACK TO DANCING AFTER AN INJURY?
OUR APPROACH
Proper treatment of dancers requires familiarity with their needs and an extensive knowledge of the demands of their sport. Leah is a former professional dancer and has been personally mentored in dance rehabilitation by one of the country's top Dance Medicine Specialists.
Because the majority of dance injuries result from muscular imbalance, tissue overuse, and subtle alignment issues, most dancers respond quickly to conservative rehabilitation. We aim to help dancers overcome their current symptoms, limit their time away from the studio, return stronger, and reduce the risk of injuries in the future.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN DURING MY SESSIONS?

We pride ourselves on taking the time to do a thorough history and evaluation at your first appointment. It is important to us that we get to know you as a person versus just a moving body.
After your initial appointment, sessions may include some of the following therapies:
-
Strengthening programs to cope with the demands of dance
-
Specific hands-on releases of chronically overused muscles
-
Taping techniques to support the body as activity is re-introduced
-
Instructions on self-release techniques
-
Dance-specific movement education
-
Education about the source of injury to empower the dancer
-
A discussion about how to modify dancing and return to the studio
