What is Osteopathic Manual Therapy?

Osteopathy focuses on facilitating the health of joints, muscles, and connective tissue through non-invasive manual therapy. Leah Bueno is a European trained Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and uses manual therapy to maximize the body's natural healing potential. European style osteopaths are trained in traditional osteopathic techniques, and focus on the musculoskeletal system. These techniques are intended to treat soft tissue and joints in order to lessen pain, reduce inflammation, and increase range of motion.

We approach anatomy, physiology, pathology, and biomechanics as integrated systems of the body. Meaning everything is connected and important. In each session we will identify areas of the body that are restricted then ease those restrictions to permit normal function. Your initial treatment will include a thorough history, an overall physical exam, manual therapy to correct the areas of the body that are predisposing the person to the injury and finally an exercise home program to facilitate your recovery.
